G-Class.
The legendary G-Wagen.
The G-Class, known as the G-Wagen, is an off-road icon built in its unchanged boxy silhouette since 1979. It rides on a ladder frame with three differential locks and four-wheel drive. The W463 generation evolved over the years from a rugged utility vehicle into a luxury SUV, and in 2018 received a thoroughly new version that kept the classic shape. At the top sits the Mercedes-AMG G 63 with a biturbo V8. At Japanese auctions the G-Class holds strong values and can be hard to source.

Which version to choose?
G 350 d
The diesel version. Lower fuel use and strong off-road torque, a sound choice for daily use while keeping the G-Wagen character.
G 500
The petrol biturbo V8. A smooth engine with strong performance, a popular middle ground between comfort and running costs versus AMG.
Mercedes-AMG G 63
The top of the range with the 4.0 biturbo V8, its signature sound and sporting kit. The most sought-after and priciest G-Class, often hard to find.
Pre-2018 (classic W463)
Older cars from before the major generational change. A more rugged character and a lower entry price, prized by fans of the original G-Wagen.
