Why Mercedes Benz?
Mercedes-AMG is the performance arm that has defined the fast saloon and SUV for decades. The naturally aspirated 6.2-litre M156 V8 in the C63 (W204) was the last great atmospheric AMG before the twin-turbo 4.0-litre M177 V8 took over in the C63 (W205) and E63 (W212/W213). The same block, as the M178, powers the AMG GT, and in the G63 (W463) and SL (R232) it delivers the torque expected of a car wearing the three-pointed star.
USS Tokyo, USS Nagoya and HAA Kobe surface dozens of Mercedes-AMG cars a week, a large share in LHD individually specified in Japan. The G-Class is a category of its own here: the Japanese market prizes the G63 and the off-road G500, so supply is steady, mileage is low and the Mercedes-Benz Japan service history is complete. A solid C63 W204 in grade 4.5 starts at ¥4M hammer, while collector cars like the 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II and the W124 500E command a multiple of that.
What we do exceptionally well. Our inspector visits every Mercedes we seriously bid on — verifying original paint with a coating-thickness gauge, the completeness of the AMG package, and the Mercedes-Benz Japan service record. On the sheet we look for any engine or body swap (on M156 cars we know the typical cylinder-head weak spots), and on the G-Class we check for off-road wear and frame corrosion. Cars sourced from Japan are usually in better shape than their European counterparts: lower mileage, garaged, and a meticulous service culture.
