Porsche 911.
The rear-engined icon.
The 911 has been in continuous production since 1963 and stays faithful to its rear-mounted, naturally aspirated or turbocharged flat-six layout. Each generation carries its own body code, from the 964 and 993 through the 996 and 997 to the modern 991 and 992. Drive goes to the rear axle, or to all four wheels in Carrera 4 and Turbo forms. Transmissions are manual or the PDK dual-clutch, depending on variant and generation. Values vary mostly by generation code and specific variant.

Which variant to choose?
Carrera
The base of the range. Turbocharged flat-six, rear-wheel drive, PDK or a manual in older versions. The best balance between daily use and 911 character.
Carrera S
A stronger Carrera with more power, a sports exhaust and optional all-wheel drive as the Carrera 4S. The most commonly chosen variant among buyers.
Turbo and Turbo S
The top of the series range. A turbocharged flat-six with far higher output, permanent all-wheel drive and PDK. The Turbo S is the quickest-accelerating version in each generation.
GT3
The track-focused version, built around a high-revving naturally aspirated flat-six, rear-wheel drive and a choice of manual or PDK. In the 992.2 generation the GT3 stayed naturally aspirated, with no hybrid system.
