Lamborghini Gallardo · 2003–2013 · Buying guide

    Gallardo.
    The best-selling Lamborghini.

The Gallardo was the brand's first production V10 model and, at the same time, the best-selling Lamborghini ever, with output exceeding 14,000 units from 2003 to 2013. Early cars used a 5.0-litre V10, while the 2008 facelift LP560-4 received a 5.2-litre unit making 560 hp. It was offered with all-wheel or rear-wheel drive and with a manual or automated gearbox. At Japanese auctions the Gallardo is the cheapest route to your own Lamborghini V10.

    Which version to choose?

    Gallardo (5.0)

The early 2003–2008 car. A 5.0 V10 making around 500–520 hp, all-wheel drive. The cheapest way in, requiring careful history checks.

    LP560-4

The 2008 facelift. A new 5.2 V10 making 560 hp, a better gearbox and revised styling. The most balanced choice on the used market.

    LP570-4 Superleggera

The lightweight, track-focused version making 570 hp. A lighter body, carbon-fibre parts and a sharper chassis. Rarer and more sought-after.

    LP550-2

The rear-wheel-drive version making around 550 hp. Lighter and more engaging to drive, prized by drivers after a classic character.
