CTS-V.
The supercharged American sedan.
The CTS is Cadillac's sport sedan, built across three generations, and its top CTS-V variant is the brand's answer to the German M and AMG saloons. The first CTS-V (2004 to 2007) had a naturally aspirated V8 and a six-speed manual. The second (2009 to 2015) gained a supercharged 6.2 LSA V8 with 556 hp, and the third (2016 to 2019) used the LT4 engine from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, making 640 hp. At Japanese auctions the CTS and CTS-V surface as imported left-hand-drive (LHD) cars.

Which generation to choose?
First-generation CTS-V (2004 to 2007)
A naturally aspirated V8 (first the 5.7 LS6, then the 6.0 LS2) of 400 hp and a Tremec six-speed manual. The most raw, analogue CTS-V, prized for its clean manual layout.
Second-generation CTS-V (2009 to 2015)
A supercharged 6.2 LSA V8 of 556 hp. Offered as a sedan, wagon and coupe. This is the car that established the CTS-V as a genuine rival to the German sports saloons.
Third-generation CTS-V (2016 to 2019)
A supercharged 6.2 LT4 V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, making 640 hp. The fastest, most modern CTS-V, with a top speed around 200 mph.
CTS (non-V variants)
The sedan in trims with smaller engines, including a V6. A calmer, cheaper-to-run choice for buyers who want the CTS shape and comfort without the V budget.
