The inspector flagged the grade as 無効 (mukō) — meaning ‘voided’. In the Japanese auction system this symbol appears when the standard 1–6 scale doesn’t apply: the car is heavily modified, has an accident history outside the usual R / RA categories, is sold as a special-purpose vehicle (rally, drift, track) or the seller refused a full inspection. It doesn’t mean the car is in poor shape — it just needs a case-by-case assessment. We inspect it on-site, read the auction-sheet notes carefully, and prepare our own report before recommending a bid.
